alix korte

Alix is a local WA artist who creates bold, colourful artworks that reflect her love of beautiful mark marking and dramatic composition, learned in her years as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator. Using Impressionistic style brushwork, she strives to capture the mood using acrylic underpainting and then oil paint in thin washes with some heavy impasto work over the top.

Many of her paintings include water as the vibrancy and fluidity of it's reflective, transparent nature are a constant fascination. Having grown up with horses and dogs, her love of animals is evident in her many portraits of working dogs, farm animals and sea birds.
